Hi Mums, Dads and Interested Others!
Before you contact me, here’s a bit about my background and what I can do for your child. There are also a couple of brain teasers below if you fancy a challenge:-
My name is Peter Bradbury. I have been a maths tutor in and around Milton Keynes since 2003, specialising only in maths. In that time I have helped many students to succeed in maths and fulfil their ambitions. I really love what I do – It’s the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done!
I gained a degree in maths and then spent 20 years working for Shell UK in a variety of roles and locations. I am also a qualified ISO9001 Lead Auditor, auditing business systems, not finance.
This business experience enables me to explain mathematical concepts creatively and relate them to real-life situations, helping to bring maths ‘alive’ for students struggling with the sometimes more abstract nature of the subject.
The individual attention I can give to students on a one-to-one basis, means that the style of learning is completely different to school. This often helps to make a breakthrough and in any case is usually a refreshing change for students.
However, that doesn’t mean that private tuition is easy; There is no place for the student to ‘hide’, both during the lesson, and at the start of each new lesson when I ask what homework has been done since last time! In the run-up to exams, I rely heavily on past papers to ensure each student has enough practice to gain the confidence they need going into the exam.
Each year I run fully invigilated mock exams following OFQAL guidelines, which all of my students are invited to attend. I am proud to say that the vast majority do. Every participant without exception states that this will help in their real exams.
I am fully CRB checked; I will happily show you my certificate on request.
I am also a member of the Tutors Association http://thetutorsassociation.org.uk and abide by the Code of Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct
Whilst most of my students attend school, I have successfully tutored a number of home-study students. Exams are taken at an independent centre in Cambridge, Oxford or London.
